Yesterday was an extraordinary example of the energy, commitment, and spirit Vermont Democrats have as we celebrated the opening of our new Rutland County Headquarters along with start of the general election season. With an incredible turnout, we were joined by many candidates, Rutland committee members, staff, volunteers, and of course our statewide and local elected officials.
As Governor Shumlin addressed the significant crowd yesterday at our Rutland HQ opening, the energy in the room was palpable with election season exuberance. He reminded us of the hard battles we fought four years ago, and how we prevailed thanks to the dedication and drive of Vermont Democrats. He spoke of our accomplishments and the incredible strides we have made in the legislature in the last couple years — but followed that by evoking the memory of a time under a Republican administration when progress for Vermont was much more difficult. The audience was galvanized, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to officially kick off the opening of our doors at 11 Center Street.
We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to the Rutland County Committee and everyone who helped make this event happen! On to November! #VoteVDP2014
