Montpelier, VT- The Vermont GOP held a fundraising dinner this weekend and apparently still cannot resist injecting divisive politics into our state’s recovery from Hurricane Irene. According to conservative website True North Reports (http://truenorthreports.com/vermont-republicans-gear-up-for-2012-at-firs...), Lt. Governor Phil Scott commented that in traveling around the state in the days and weeks following Irene, he observed people working hard to get our state moving again, “and it may have been my imagination, but I do believe most of them who were doing the work were Republicans.” “Yes, Lieutenant Governor... it was your imagination,” said Jake Perkinson, chair of the Vermont Democratic Party. “Vermonters of all political persuasions have been working hard for weeks to put our state back together, and it’s sad that the Lt. Governor would choose to politicize this crisis.”
