Field Organizer - Vermont Democratic Coordinated Campaign

The Vermont Democratic Coordinated Campaign is hiring field organizers to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in November. Field organizers report directly to Organizing Director.

 

Tasks and Duties:

  • Recruit, train and manage interns and volunteers

  • Plan and manage phone banks and canvasses

  • Knock on doors and make phone calls

  • Amplify message, recruit volunteers and create online communities using social media platforms

  • Track all volunteer outreach and engagement in VAN daily   

Required Skills & Background

  • Experience working with strict deadlines and goals

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment

  • Must have access to a vehicle, a cellphone and a laptop

  • Commitment to electing all Democrats on the ballot

Preferred Background & Experience

  • Previous campaign experience

  • Proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN

  • Vermont ties

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

 
The Vermont Democratic Party is hiring a part-time communications intern to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November. The communications intern will report directly to the communications director, R. Christopher Di Mezzo.
 
Tasks and Duties:
  • Assist the Director in the implementation of a robust social media campaign
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Party events/rallies/festivals/etc.
  • Draft social media posts
  • Formulate and send out a daily press-clippings email to all VDP staff
  • Assist the Director in crafting messaging for the Party
  • Attend Party functions with the goal of "covering" the event through photography and videography
Required Skills & Background
  • Experience working with strict deadlines and goals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Photography/videography skills preferred
  • Strong writing abilities
  • An eye for design
  • Commitment to electing all Democrats on the ballot
Preferred Background & Experience
  • Enrolled in college or recently graduated
