Phil Scott’s Planned Parenthood Attacks Backfire in VT-Gov
October 27, 2016
Burlington, VT Phil Scott just can’t help himself.
For the second time this week, Vermont’s GOP candidate has gone after Planned Parenthood, joining the national Republican Party’s attack against the women’s healthcare provider.
A new ad from Scott’s campaign assails Planned Parenthood for raising issue with his record of supporting increased restrictions on a woman’s right to choose. This follows his attacks from the WPTZ debate stage, where he referred to women’s health issues as “wedges” and distractions.
All of this from the candidate backed by anti-choice advocacy group, Vermont Right to Life.
“Instead of owning up to his record of supporting increased restrictions on women’s healthcare, Phil Scott has joined the national Republican attacks against Planned Parenthood,” said Christina Amestoy, VDP spokesperson. “Vermont needs a governor who will stand up for women’s health rights every step of the way. Not another Republican who tries to cover up his record by attacking Planned Parenthood.”
Paid for by the Vermont Democratic Party and not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.
