Vermont Democratic Party Statement on the Second Impeachment of Donald Trump

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

News from the Vermont Democratic Party

--

MONTPELIER, VT — After a bipartisan vote of the House Representatives impeaching President Donald Trump for the second time, this time for instigating last week's insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, Vermont Democratic Party Chairman Bruce Olsson issued the following statement: “Last week's attack on the U.S. Capitol, which was instigated by Donald Trump, was a direct attack on our democracy and our values. His actions were seditious, unconstitutional, and undeniably impeachable. “Congressional Democrats, including our own Congressman Peter Welch, took action that made it clear that no one is above the law and that any attack on our democracy will not go unpunished. “The Vermont Democratic Party extends our deepest gratitude to Congressman Welch, who co-sponsored today’s resolution, and his colleagues who voted today to preserve and protect our democracy.”
