WE'RE HIRING!

Leahy Fellow

The Vermont Democratic House Campaign is looking for campaign fellows to help elect a Democratic Supermajority to the Vermont House of Representatives. Fellows will be employed for 25 hours a week working on targeted House races through Election Day. Each Fellow will be assigned 2 - 3 House Districts and their candidates to work with . These positions will be hybrid, including remote and in-person tasks.

Fellows will spend one day a week working in each of their three districts, working with candidates on collecting, inputting and tracking data for the House Campaign from the previous week. They will ensure that data has been properly input into Votebuilder, and collate information on funds raised, doors knocked, phone results, IDs, etc. to report to the House Campaign Director. They will then work with their candidates to expand those campaigns’ direct voter contact capacity. Tasks will include:

  • Organizing and recruiting volunteers for phone banks or canvass weekends.

  • Cutting lists for candidates to reach out to during their weeks

  • Conducting direct voter contact on their own on behalf of the candidates.

Fellows may be assigned additional tasks based on the discrete needs of each campaign, ranging from communications assistance to fundraising supports.

Fellows will spend one additional evening per week with each candidate on tasks that are most effective for that candidate that work with their schedule. Fellow will spend these evenings recruiting volunteers to knock doors, organizing and managing DVC events (phone banks or canvassing), staffing fundraising call time, or helping to draft communication content.

Fellows will rotate through their assigned candidates for one weekend day per week. This weekend day will be focused solely on direct voter contact.

Qualified candidates should have strong written and verbal communications skills and a knowledge of Google Suite programs, including Sheets and Docs. Fellows will be trained in campaigns and on voter contact management programs used by the VDP. Compensation is $15/hr.
